“Rampathon is a great way for our team to come together to give someone the freedom and accessibility to go out into the world each day. Something most of us take for granted.”
Chuck Russell
Overview

We value the communities in which we live and work, which is why our whole company gets involved in giving back. We donate to a variety of charities including Climb for the Cure, Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center, Snohomish County Women’s Shelter and numerous local school auctions, to name
a few.

Westhill is proud to serve as a community drop-off point for Maltby Food Bank donations. And, in lieu of giving gifts, our team opts to celebrate the holidays by contributing donations to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and Seattle Children’s Hospital on behalf of our customers.

Charity Contest Reaps $103,000
2009 was a year of uncertainty and financial difficulties for many, including our employees. But instead of dwelling on the negatives, our team focused our energies on something positive—a company-wide contest designed to aid our community. Under the guidance of our GM, Chuck Russell, five teams dedicated their time and their talents hosting food and clothing drives, building a portable shower and bike shelter for the homeless, building handicap ramps, and constructing and auctioning off a children’s playhouse. We’re proud to say we’ve raised over $103,000 for various charities throughout the year!

Rampathon
Annually, we participate in the Master Builders Care Foundation’s Rampathon, building ADA-approved access ramps for our low-income neighbors in need. This year, our Westhill team, their families and suppliers came together on Saturday, May 15 to donate money, time, labor and materials to this great cause. Since Rampathon’s inception in 1993 over 270 ramps have been built.

In addition to constructing this year’s ramp for an elderly Woodinville couple, we gave the yard a facelift by weeding, pruning trees, planting flowers and mowing the lawn.

Having access to the outside world is something most of us take for granted. Seeing the excitement on a child’s face or the look of gratitude from a disabled homeowner who can experience more freedom is priceless. Thanks to all who volunteer for this event.

Snohomish County Playroom Project

Working with the Master Builders Care Foundation, Westhill formed a team to help remodel three playrooms for children living in battered women’s shelters in King and Snohomish counties.

Greater Woodinville Rotary Club
We are honored to belong to this international organization, to have an opportunity to conduct humanitarian service, encourage ethical standards in all vocations and to help build good will and peace in the world.

Operation Warm
Our CEO serves as Chair of Operation Warm, providing new winter coats for low income children. This year, Westhill provided trucks and storage for the local event and provided 500 new coats, making 500 children a little warmer this Christmas.

The Woodinville All Fools’ Day Parade
Westhill employees gathered up their families and friends to join in the annual All Fool’s Day parade on Saturday, March 27th. Some hopped on the back of our 1949 Chevy flatbed truck, others walked along the parade route handing out candy to the excited crowd. And the weather even cooperated—giving us beautiful sunshine, a rarity for this event.

The whole day was filled with fun starting with a pancake breakfast at the Woodinville Fire station and included an Arts & Craft Fair, a children’s activity center and the Bassett Bash. The Basset Bash is as fun for the hounds as it is for the people—prizes were awarded for categories like best howl, best waddle, funniest name and longest ears.
