Westhill Inc. Design/Build was started by Charles A Russell Jr., in July, 1974. At that time we specialized in spec home building and land development, in the rural areas of King and Snohomish counties.

We developed parcels of land, ten acres or less, for our building needs. Due to a shortage of available land, extremely prohibitive and costly development and growth regulations, especially for the small developer, and a desire to work more closely with individual customers, we decided it was time for a change.

The transition was made in the 1980’s to enter into the custom home and remodeling business. During this time we hired employees to do more in-house work, and relied less on sub contract labor. We experienced a slow growth period of approximately ten to twelve years.

During the 1990’s we concentrated mostly on remodel work. Approximately 80% of our work was residential remodeling and 20% custom home building. The company grew at a manageable rate.

Continuing our tradition of great remodeling and custom home building, the 2000’s finds us expanding into other areas; design/build, interior design, architectural design and an added sales staff. With the maturation of our long standing management employees; the addition of two design professionals and four additional sales professionals, Westhill is positioned to move to the next level of growth.

Since 1974, Westhill has developed a reputation for personalized service and proven craftsmanship. Each project is designed to meet a customer’s individual needs and budget requirements. We also offer specialized services such as; CAPS (Certified Aging-In-Place Specialists) home assessments, permit and application assistance, along with custom home site acquisitions.

We hold a General Contractor’s License for the State of Washington, and focus on, but do not limit our efforts to the Seattle region, and the primary outlying areas of Mercer Island, Bellevue, Redmond, Sammamish, Kirkland and Woodinville.
