May 14th - Rampathon: Saturday, May 14 was Rampathon Day! Once again Westhill Inc. participated in this annual ramp building blitz for low income, disabled homeowners, sponsored by the Master Builders Care program of King and This year we built a wheelchair ramp for twin boys, age 6 diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. This was their lifeline to the outside world. Their father carried each 65 pound child down a flight of stairs to position them into a van, just to go to the store. By building a ramp, physical relief was provided for their father and enabled the children to enter and exit the house on their own, if they would like to go out and play. A ramp Captain is assigned to be responsible for the ramp construction. Westhill took the responsibilities one step further, as we did last year. We recruited several of our sub-contractors, friends and families to conduct an in-kind makeover to the home. From landscaping to clean-up, painting and more. Ramps would normally cost between $3,000 to $5,000, but during Rampathon, all of the labor and materials are donated by members of the Master Builders Association. Rampathon is a tremendous opportunity for our employees and sub-contractors to give back to our community. See Thank You Letter to Westhill |
